Ceramic Birdhouses

What bird would use these houses I don't know, but it would be great for keeping the the other birds away. Right? Stoneware clay, driftwood, leather and rope.

Mosaic Mirror

Here's a look at my process putting together a mosaic mirror.

I start by using mastic to glue the edge tiles on a wooden frame. That creates
a channel to drop my tiles into. The tiles are loose at this point. The frame
has a recess on the back side that the mirror will fit into.

Here I have all the tiles laid out the way I want them.

Next I like to use this broken Italian floor tile that has been tumbled to
fill in around the color tiles.

Finally the fun part - grouting. I find the black grout gives me the best
contrast and makes the colors really pop.

Los Osos Tile Installation

This was a project I did for a friend of mine up in Los Osos, California. A tiny little beach community just above Morro Bay. It gets cold up there during the winter and a lot of the beach shacks have free standing fire places. So my friend Mark and I built a platform for his fireplace and I created some custom tiles for it inspired by a persian carpet design. I made press tiles for the boarder tiles and hand cut the large pieces it's all stoneware. The out side is a Mexican tile I thought the color set it off nice. The windows above look out over the ocean I'll have to get back up there soon to get some pictures.  Fun project

20" Round Table Top

Nice little round table top. I broke up some Italian floor tile an tumbled them to soften up the edges for the broken bits.

10x10 Trivets

Round Mosaic Table

This little end table is 20'' in diameter and stands about 24' tall. All the tiles are my own designs hand cut  pressed and glazed. I used broken Italian tile in the center that I tumbled first  to remove the sharp edges. The base was also my creation, about as fancy as I'll ever want to get with a welder.
